Sunset

I believe I came up with this at night before I went to sleep...

Tonight,

the golden dappled sunlight

tenderly strokes the roses,

encouraging them to grow

beneath the summer sun

Tonight,

the grass is bathed

in warmth and glow,

as lovingly, the softness of the scene embraces it,

as love matures on the dew-dropped blades

Tonight, you can have it, my love

Tonight, I would readily give it, my love

Tonight, it is yours to keep, my love

The key to the warmth within...

Tonight,

warm bright colours

flood the sea which is the sky..

Magenta, orange, but who cares for names

when sat beneath the sunlit vastness?

Tonight,

the common daisies in the meadow

are stars in a moonlit valley,

returned to their full meaning

by the depth of beauty

Tonight, you can have it, my love

Tonight, I would readily give it, my dove

Tonight, it is yours precious, my love -

the key to my deep, true love

Tonight,

who cares for woes or sorrows here?

Who cares for wailing, grieving now?

Tonight, the romance reigns, my dear

Tonight, our passion is king

Tonight, you can have it, my love

Tonight, you can treasure it, my dear

Tonight, you must take it, my dove

The key to my inner heart.

The End
