Summers

This drains us;
the passion and
desperation congealed
into one. This filtering
of virtue, desire is infected,
unable to drift swiftly
through. And in that
summer, with pearly
new moons and lost
memories, it brought
it all back--the reality
of humanity, of youth,
of disaster--
these are the summers
we lack.

The End
