My glasses flew from my face as my truck shot into empty air. I screamed. Black ice. Impact. Snow flew. The end of an old companion.

Glasses fly from wide eyes.

Silent screams pour past quivering lips.

I never saw the ice.

Snow soars like frightened fowl.

Tree trunks turn to crippled sticks.

My car dies with me inside.
