Starved

Sharp pain stabs through her,
Bringing her to her knees.
Head in her hands,
Tears in her eyes,
She can't take it much longer.
'No, I can do it', she tells herself,
Certain she is fine.
Her body aches for nourishment,
But she refuses to eat.
So, all her energy sapped,
And every movement draining,
She makes it to her feet,
And walks on.

The End
