The Maiden

She was a maiden from among the stars.

And when she laughed, even the darkest corners could light up in joy
The far-off planets whispered to her
  Bitter-sweet untruths.
And the very constellations were
The drapes and folds on her shimmering robes;
For she was of the universe,
        She was of the stars.

She shone for all the world to see,
But nobody knew,
There might be light and love on the outside,
But the true darkness lies within.
