I didn't expect to catch you....

I went down to the lake this morning,

Took a bucket and a fishing rod too.

I cast in my hook, yeah I cast it in far,

But I didn't expect to catch you.

I thought I'd have a normal day's fishing,

I guess I didn't think it through,

Cos I cast in my hook, yeah I cast it in far,

But I didn't expect to catch you.

You smiled at me over the water,

A mysterious twinkle in your eye,

I found myself falling without really falling,

Into eyes as blue as the sky.

Your voice it cut through silent worship,

And smooth as honey on bread,

You took the fishing rod out of my hands and said

Baby lets go home to bed.

Yeah I thought I'd have a normal day's fishing,

I guess I didn't think it through,

Cos I cast in my hook, yeah I cast it in far,

But I didn't expect to catch you.

The End
