Space

A poem about the ending of a bad relationship

This space is mine was taken away,
Invaded by you as we talked that day.
You never heard what I had to say,
And you didn't even notice why it started, did you?

As we walked together it drew dark,
Nothing so simple as a walk through the park.
We didn't know but it stayed stark,
Contrasting as my thoughts swirled in my my mind.

The space looked bleak and torn and tattered,
Nothing you said changed or mattered,
Then suddenly, the illusion shattered,
He didn't know why it ended but I could see.
