Something New

Spreading my wings, ready for flight

New journey begins, as day turns to night

Smiles invade my lips like rain

Breaking free from this rod iron chain

Battle scared, but willing to try

One less reason I have to cry

Eyes are wide open and my heart is lock

Hands held out like a working wall clock

Into the unknown that once new my place

Erasing the memory that once filled that space

Pain starts to subside and the aches slowly fade

An empty bed remains where you once laid

The End
