Soireé

A poem I wrote while hearing a friend going through tough times in his love life.

An empty seat
dusty counter and swinging light.
Players move to the back,
arching and stroking the pool
table with command.
Slender glass eying the gentlemen
in the corner, and smoke clings to
the ceiling like a lady.
How I wish to fill it.

The End
