Slumber

I really love the feeling I get as I fall asleep, slowly losing feeling of gravity as I imagine Ieach limb weighs thousands of pounds. The slowing of a heartbeat. The increase in thought. It's all amazing.

Numbness seeps through limbs

Cumbersome, dragging burdens

Pulling you down towards the dark abyss.

Eyelids slip shut and flutter open,

Sweet butterflies flitting in and out of consciousness.

Drip,

          Drop,

                    Drip,

Saccharine nectar dribbles from the cavernous maw.

Falling forward,

A jolt of reality.

Never ending seconds of a battle for control.

Resting your head as you fall…
