Simple things

Will a beautiful rainbow ever be
to part these gloomy skies?
fields of green revealed
to soothe these tired eyes

There may not be riches waiting
but could do with a welcoming smile
the warmth of a tender embrace
that lingers on for a while

Can our world work on a premise simple
will these notions ever fade?
or we continue to live with contrivances
and long for such escapades

The End
