Shooting Star

I’ve never seen a shooting star
Sail through the skies
Bursting from beneath the clouds
A spark shower in the heavens
The world is not a wish granting factory,
But the little star transcends all boundary
Comet tail flashing with whispered wishes
Bright eyed children rushing out to see
The little goodness in the world so free;

And the little star did fall alone
Through folds of space
Past a world of stone
But the little star so full of hope
Thawed a thousand hearts
Down her final slope.

The End
