Shadows and Light

Shadows slithering across the floor,

towards the slightly opened door.

Light shines through the other side,

marking the subtle divide.

Shadows cannot enter the dazzling light,

and therefore cannot bite.

But give them just a little room,

and they will unleash terrible doom.

Shadows strive in the presence of night,

and therefore are the cause of strife.

And give them just a little room,

and they will unleash terrible doom.

Shadows are the evil in life,

inflicting pain, causing strife.

But light is good and shows the way,

that we are to take each day.

Shadows last but a moment in time,

but light is constant, and divine.

Always present, whether night or day,

light shows us the way.
