set rain to the fire

You've probably heard the popular ADELE song, "Set Fire to the Rain."
I was thinking the other day...it's about time to write "set rain to the fire," dontcha think?

set rain to the fire

verse one, part one
i let you bruise my soul
as though i did not care one bit for it
it was ash without hope
the chains you place on me were worth saving

my eyes were fixed
on the lies you've always told me
as a way to believe
that baby, you're just not good for me

verse one, part two
but there's a side to you that i never knew, never knew
all lies you told, yes they came true, came true
and the shame you played, it would always win, always win

chorus
but i'll set rain to the fire
even though you are such a liar
i can't watch it destroy you with me lookin' on, just lookin' on

verse two, part one
my resolve isn't strong
one look from you, and i forget
all your games and false
and all the reasons why i even left

verse one, part two
yeah, there's a side to you that i never knew, never knew
all lies you told, yes they came true, came true
and the shame you played, it would always win, always win

chorus
but i'll set rain to the fire
even though you are such a liar
i can't watch it destroy you with me lookin' on, just lookin' on

yeah, i'll set rain to the fire
let us both sink into the mire
all the hate isn't worth watching you get proven wrong, proven wrong

bridge
sometimes i wonder what i've done
if i should've given up and dared to run
even i see what you've caused
but i can't help myself, you're the one

chorus
but i'll set rain to the fire
even though you are such a liar
i can't watch it destroy you with me lookin' on, just lookin' on

yeah, i'll set rain to the fire
let us both sink into the mire
all the hate isn't worth watching you get proven wrong, proven wrong

The End
