Serena Marie

Serena Marie, you remind of someone
like the ghost from my past who I never speak of
Such dark eyes hold much more than dying optimism
but rather a sweetness that beleaguers the lonely

Serena Marie, you are so familiar
you speak in such a soft voice that revives
a sinister parody of the months I wasted
and the tears that fell like autumn leaves

Serena Marie, is there something you’re not telling me?

Serena Marie, I can’t quite make out
who you are and where I have seen you before
You’ve seen my personal side yet
I know nothing about you at all

Serena Marie, I feel uncomfortable
it’s been so long since I have trusted another
Maybe I am suspicious of my own failings
or you truly are a personification of my fall

Serena Marie, there’s something you’re not telling me
Serena Marie, there’s something you’re not telling me

The End
