Second Taste Of Heaven

It's about wanting to desperately get back with someone you once loved, unaware of how much self-destruction it caused

We knew each other for so little a time

Fell in love for barely a moment

Before the waters were poisoned

And my heart was torn

You're burning bridges yet again

I needed to cover up the scars

Recovering from a love intense like fire

Heart strings cut by razor wire

I opened my eyes and instantly I knew

The kisses you gave me meant nothing to you

I'll make it back someday

But I'll think of you always

Connections blaze into existence

So easily severed

But I would give up everything

For a second taste of heaven

Help me, because I'm burning up under the lights

Please save me, because I risked it all for her tonight

This love was everything to me

A hundred thousand stars, all that I have left

A hundred thousand scars, the last remaining evidence

I’ll make it back someday

But I’ll think of you always

Connections blaze into existence

So easily severed

But I would give up everything

For a second taste of heaven

Lighting strikes my heart and I surrender

The corners of your mouth twitch to a smile

You're heart pounded with those feelings too

Maybe you still share the love I had for you

You were always so hard to figure out

We were both graceless, spiraling together, forever down

I’ll make it back someday

But I’ll think of you always

Connections blaze into existence

So easily severed

But I would give up everything

For a second taste of heaven

The End
