just another poem

On that last night you gazed at me,

Eyes like two solar eclipses side by side,

Your look said you loved me,

Said you’d miss me,

Said you’d see me in the next world,

Said don’t cry,

I cried anyway.

On that last morning your eyes were blank,

Subtle rising and falling was all that told me you were alive,

A passive stare at the world

I didn’t touch you,

Say goodbye,

It was the last time I saw you,

And now all I have is pictures and memories that still hurt.

The End
