Save Your Heart

I’ve seen you get up

Slowly brushing off the heavy words

That’s why I’m afraid when you say you love me

He calls me everything sweet

Says he loves me…correction: “in love with me”

After everything he revealed to me

You can’t crush their confidence in your secret holding vault

But I don’t share the same emotions as he has for me

Unconditional, unchanging, and always there

He tries so hard every day for my attention

I hate how I’m a coward to not tell him how I really feel

I wish I could only just say:

“Save your heart

For someone who loves you

For someone who is worth dying for

For someone who leaves you breathless

For someone who feels the same”

I wish he could save his heart for someone who’s not me

The End
