Sarcasm Hurts Too

I left your love letter in the snow
in the footprints that lead from my home
It was the last time I heard from you
I heard you found another man

To take the pain away

You are so precious to me
even when you broke my heart
and revealed the black flames
of your deceptive soul

We were the purity that turned to poison
We were the angels that were fallen
All the hateful things you said empowered you
and guess what?
Sarcasm hurts too

I never really knew you after all
Was I only ever the last resort?
All the pleasure twined into darkness
I lost hope in ever to see the sun again

So I could pass on

You are so precious to him
even when I disintegrated
became the ashes where
a broken man rose up

We were the purity that turned to poison
We were the angels that were fallen
All the hateful things you said empowered you
and guess what?
Sarcasm hurts too

The End
