Safe in The Dark

Night comes and the light flees from the dark
The world becomes still and comfortably stark
I walk with quiet swiftness through an empty park
I sigh contently; I know I’m safe in the dark.

Redemption comes and I hide in the dark
I don’t want any light not even a solitary spark
I run to the darkness because I bear its mark
I walk with a light heart, I know I’m safe in the dark.

Love comes and I pollute it with what is dark
I hang my head though she is happy as a lark
On this journey into darkness I will forever embark
Because I know that I’ll always be safe in the dark.

The End
