Returning From The Light

It's about bringing someone back from the dead after they overdose, even if death is easier than this life

I found her collapsed, unwilling to return

A darkness splashed across her eyes

But a trance-like bliss consumes her soul

As her spirit returns to the light

Words muffled, expressions distorted

Ears choose not to hear, I won't return to a heart exhausted

Come back, come home they tell me

But I feel home amongst the ghosts

My blood and existence are history

Lay me to rest

Allow me a final choice and grace

No more kisses and long goodbyes

I have only the urge to die

We know that death is easier

But I know that I must be with her

Electricity flows, bolting towards the heart

Bringing her from the void, returning to the start

Two poisons, can be painful alone

But deadly when united

The power to turn white hearts black

To shut the door of life

Souls can never come back

Lay me to rest

Allow me a final choice and grace

No more kisses and long goodbyes

I have only the urge to die

I made the decision to save you

I know you will never thank me

But I could never grant you the wish

The illusion of being free

Reapers plead your case and beg a second death

But I love you absolutely, every second you died

Mine were wasted breaths

Lay me to rest

Allow me a final choice and grace

No more kisses and long goodbyes

I have only the urge to die

The End
