Rebuttal to Lucille Clifton's "Report From the Angel of Eden"

I wrote it in a workshop, and we had just listened to that poem on youtube, and then we did a writing exercise in which I wrote this where we had six words from our neighbor that we had to write a poem using. Mine were desire, love, passion, determination, glory, and pain. I know, right?!

The Gently drifting wind blows with pain,
Passionately turning a single leaf,
Accompanied by a single small grain
Of sand, with glory, past a swordless sheath,
Past determined soldiers joining the war,
Past innocent lovers in open fields,
Desire in both, tell me which is more
Green and blue like earth, sex, or men with shields?

The End
