Real-Life Monsters

I've diverted from my normal writing style here and tried to do something about the crimes committed against women ...just an experiment!

"Mommy, I am scared",
The girl whimpered.
"Stay with me tonight;
 There's a monster under my bed."

"He follows me in the dark,
always hidden, yet in plain sight,
He looks human, flesh and bone,
But I can see the hard glint in his eyes
And I know; he is after me, Mommy."

"He'll stay near me throughout the night,
And he'll catch me by surprise.
He will pin me down, however much I fight,
Muffle my screams,
And suck the life out of me."

Time flew, years passed
Yet the monsters did not leave
The little, frightened girl,
Now a lady.

"Dear God", she whispered,
As she walked a lonely road at night.
"Stay with me tonight;
A monster is at my back."

"He's following me in the dark,
Always hidden, yet in plain sight.
I know he looks human, flesh and bone,
But I can see the hard glint in his eyes
And I know he's after me, dear God;
Protect me."

But it was too late,
Too late to pray,
For even God cannot stop the devil
The monster took her by surprise,
Pinned her down, resisting her fight,
 Muffled her screams,
Clawed his hand up her skirt,
And sucked the life out of her.

The End
