Picture Book

Frozen in time,

Lost on the wind,

You stare at me

With hollow eyes.

I never knew,

What lay beyond,

Your face, your smile

The picture, a fallen autumn leaf.

I never knew,

Your laugh, your voice,

Never felt your presence,

You cast me aside, didn't care.

You lay in my picture book,

Now long gone, you stare at me,

Like a pressed flower, a memory of the past,

Like a summer I did not see.

The End
