Growing Older

Silenced shrill of happiness,
Hushed hearty laughter.
Pain enclosed within the four walls,
Held back tears of grief.

Compromise on every step taken,
Boldness, a far cry.
Backbiting masked as courage,
Suffocation of everyday monotony.

Responsibility ensuing freedom,
Power vested with pre-conditions.
In the quest for maturity,
Life's li'l pleasures take a backseat.

Dancing in the rain,
Laughing iut loud.
Venting pain and grief
Labelled as unbred and uncouth.

Break free from stereotypes,
There's just one chance at this game.
Time passes too quickly for notice,
To never come back again

The End
