Cold Heart

Cold Heart

I don't know how you did it
But yes, you certainly did
I don't know how you did it
But things became different

I found myself slowly
Valuing friendship, even though
I'd once told myself
I would withdraw from life

Things changed drastically
I don't know how you did it
But yes, you certainly did
Things became different

For the first time in
In ever, ever so long
I found myself believing
That I could have a friend

Perhaps not a close friend
How could anyone ever
Find it within themselves
To ever like me?

But slowly, slowly, slowly
You began to find your way
Into my broken heart
This tired, cold heart

The End
