i carry an ocean in my bonesMature

I carry an ocean in my bones,
the tide ebbs and flows and crashes
against the inner walls of my skeleton,
it waters down my marrow and leaks out
spreading into my veins,
tainting my blood with salt water.
The shift makes me weak and timid
but in the morning I’ll feel all right,
once the tide has receded and I
can breathe again without the sea
pulling at my lungs.

The End
