A diamond upon a slender silver chain of trust,
A necklace of light.
Purity captured within the cut sides of the stone
Beauty exploding from every movement made.

The links of trust are carefully welded
The essence of time and love bind together the couplings
Capable of enduring eternity -
Easily broken in an instant of anger, of hurt, of mistake.

A choker of fear,
Rhinestones inferior and lacklustre
The tarnished shackles slicing into the bearer’s pulse
An enslavement of choice.

The links of trust are forced into place
The vapours of hatred and fear seep into the manacle
A cemented promise on the foundations of disgust
Broken only with the breaking of the soul.

The End
