Prince of Lies

I saw him from the corner of my eye
He was unmistakably the prince of lies
From the darkness he approached me
He radiated wealth and mystery

Made promises that intrigued
Said I'd get girls out of my league
All I'd have to do was sign
Said my life would be divine

Instead of a pen he gave me a blade
The handle was made of precious jade
I cut my hand so the blood would flow
He took the contract and told me to go

I woke up sweating and breathing hard
And I saw my hand was badly scarred
And the promises he made were never kept
But my soul is forever in the depths

The End
