Predators And Hunters

It's about how dangerous places can always seem so close, and yet, paradoxically, like another world

Around these streets it all seems not innocent
But neither are souls stained fully black
But the sun cowers behind clouded gates
As under cover of darkness
The night begins it’s latest attack

Predators patrol and hunt tonight
Stars fade as these killers murder the light

Why should I leave the house
Face the malice that lies just beyond my door
I am nothing but a snare for the hunter
It’s barely a life that I live anymore

Reapers move with hoods up, and a glint in the light
Beasts snarl and move into position
It’s only the laws of violence that rule tonight
Move to a personal level of terror
The gun sound is the hymn of street religion

Predators patrol and hunt tonight
Stars fade as these killers murder the light

Karma suspended in the torture chamber
Behind masks shadowy parties profit in war
Nothing but more prey for the hunter
More blood spilt before the dawn

These streets will convert angels to animals
Creeping to play another dangerous game
Drugs caused the fall on roads and avenues
Heaven’s tears turn corrosive in the rain
The city has claimed another again

The End
