Prayer
You told me when I turned
You'd be there for me
When I was in trouble
And you'd be holding on.
You told me I didn't need
To fear a worldly thing.
Because no matter what,
You had my hand in yours.
And you told me when I cried
That you felt my pain.
That when I was hurting
You were hurting too.
So why am I whispering
With tears on my cheeks
And my heart so torn,
If you're holding me?
Why am I lonely
With friends far away,
And no one to turn to,
If you're there for me?
