Iter

Iter

Sometimes, I attempt to fill the gap
between us with words that sound
pretty, that look nice, that lineate
themselves in a comfortable way
across the page. One small stone
leaps across the water, one small
twig lands on another, and a fire
ignites, just enough to clear away
one bit of air that keeps lapping
at my ears. May the space between
You and me become a place
where Your sanctification raps at
the door, whispering, remember
Me; Child, I am still here.

The End
