Cor

Cor

It is with greatest perplexion
that I watch brothers and sisters
hurl stones at one another,
shattering all and accomplishing
nothing. Shake your finger at me
if you must. I care not
for your judgment and will not
cease my ways for the sake
of one less scratch upon
my skin.

Go ahead and make your belt
and your purse all matchey matchey,
and carry around one dozen
tracts to pass out to the homeless,
but the outward has no bearing
upon heart that is alive unto sin.
Your heart does has not been
fully enraptured by the Love of Christ
if even one hateful glance should
escape
your eyes.

The End
