Lux

Lux

I will not wait for them to bless me. I will not wait
for their approving eyes. I will not wait for a tapping
at the door that tells me they know I am here.
I will not wait for the grass to turn green or for the road
to straighten itself. I will not wait for a letter
of acceptance, nor will I wait for a prophet to take
my hand and kindly show me the sweetest paths.
I will wait only for You, Jehovah. Like a watchman
waits for the dawn will I wait upon You.
