Poison Apple

Facing the simple travesty of mortality
I pray for darkness so I can once more
see the moonlight and soak in its glow
To be wanted... it’s such an arduous feeling

Pushed aside in the midnight loneliness
I wasn’t the man who held promises
or the solemn embrace from their eyes
to be wanted... it’s such a painful desire

You made me taste the poison apple
Then I understood
how alone I was
You made me taste the poison apple
Then I understood
that you wanted me to feel...

Leaning on the edge of my life
I am pressed against your heart
But it was a futile endeavour
To be wanted... and unable to express

A maudlin end to all those false words
you discarded with the arrival
to dispel your restless dreams
But you forgot about me

You made me taste the poison apple
Then I understood
how alone I was
You made me taste the poison apple
Then I understood
that you wanted me to feel...

The disappointment you were acquainted with

The End
