Walking in the Pressence of ShadowsMature

Breathe

As the night’s glow

Caresses your quacking figure.

Wake

To the silence

That surrounds your realm.

Sleep

To

Escape.

Departure from the surface.

Rising from the remnants

To become a queen.

Take

This

Oath.

They come in cloaks

Woven by twilight

To offer their deliverance.

Wake

As you hear the moon

Solemnly swearing

Child,

You can walk.

Take off your chains.

See

The

Hand

Reaching out,

Dragging you deeper

Far from the sorrowed land.

Open

Your

Eyes

Whose irises

Be tortured by sadness,

Witnessing the destruction.

Follow me

On this road

Child of night.

Take my hand

To the end

Where the road

Drops off

Into oblivion.

Fear not what lies ahead.

Keep the journey in mind

And the promise of the dream.

Let the stars shine

And light up this path

Where the ancients lay.

Walking in the presence of shadows

To take you to the rhapsody.

Walking in the presence of shadows.

I feel I’ve been here before.

These

Streets are familiar.

Have I been astray?

Could

It be so sweet

To show me the secret.

Stay

Close

Now.

Near the end

The road drops off.

You must look down.

All

Eyes

Gaze.

From underground

And the skies,

The shadows cry:

Come

Misguided youth.

You wake to death.

Find

Solace inside

Our cold embrace.

Stop

And

Hear

Their pleas.

The ancients stare

Into your despair.

To

Walk

Here

Is a march

Away from death.

Hiding inside the gloom.

See me walk

Down this road

Child of night.

Pavement stained

With blood.

But I fear

No more as

I see the moon near.

Dwell no more in this.

Erupt from this hardened shell

And remember the passage.

Take my hand

As I lead you to

Where the ancients lay.

Walking in the presence of shadows.

They project the future.

Walking in the presence of shadows.

I feel the cold embrace.

Falling off the edge of the road

Into the waiting arms.

I have kept the moon’s promise

To convey you with me.

Aggravation morphs and changes

As the shadows deliver succor.

Though I fall inside the delusion

At least you’ll be waiting there for me.

Awaken,

As the night recedes

And the film resumes.

Awaken

To find the dream

Was a fantasy after all.

The End
