The GuardianMature

I look

Down on you as you sit

At

The rock bottom of the world.

A bottle

And a knife clutched in your hand

As

You bleed out to erase the pain.

Every slice

Takes you deep below the surface,

And

You begin to drown in the tragedy.

I see

A broken human living on

No hope.

I see you in so much agony.

And I don’t want you

To be alone down there.

I want to suffer with you.

I want to go down

And bleed with you

Just so I can be your friend

To the end.

I rest

Atop the world, crown upon my head,

And

Life is so beautiful to me.

I have

Endless riches and royalty.

But as

I look around, I don’t see you near.

I see

Underground, you’re still trying

To fade

And disappear from the world.

You try

To push me away for my safety

But I

Will not abandon this ship.

And I don’t want you

To be alone down there.

I want to suffer with you.

Just so you know,

Even if they’re gone

I will never leave,

I will be here forever.

The razor and the knife

Will not bring you hope.

The bottle and all your pills

Cannot take away your pain.

Death is not an answer

To your overwhelming stress.

The pressure is great,

But you don’t have to take it alone.

I’ve made a promise

To bring you to my throne.

No matter what you do,

I’m going to bring you here.

Take a look

Around and all you see is darkness.

But I

Hold a torch to show the way.

This place

Is riddled with broken dreams.

If you

Follow me I’ll take you home.

This life

Is beyond your comprehension.

There is

So much beauty inside of you.

I care

For those that look out for me.

You won’t

Die on me, I’m taking you home.

I won’t let you

Be alone down here.

I’ve come to save you.

Even if you protest,

Cry and yell and

Shout at me to stop,

I won’t give up.

And I refuse

To not protect you.

You will never

Bleed on my watch.

You will live

Right beside me.

On top of the world.

It doesn’t matter

If all the others

Have left you and

Your home disowns you,

Because nothing in life

Can stop me from

Saving your life.

You will never

See a day

Where you walk alone

Feeling disgraced.

Come into my embrace,

Dry all your tears,

You will never die.

I don’t want you

To be alone down there,

To be alone down there tonight.

I won’t let you

Be alone down there,

To be alone down there tonight.

You will never

Be alone down there,

Be alone down there at all.

I made a promise,

To bring you back,

You’re not so alone after all.

The End
