TurbulenceMature

Two young people

Together in love.

Picture-perfect,

As it seemed,

Through my window.

They had connection

Unrivaled by others.

Out of the bond

Something emerged.

A new life form.

Every day she came

To visit my poor old heart.

I never thought

It would heal.

To think that it's all over.

Through the flames

Of their raging hate,

I see a broken story untold.

In the haze,

I can see

She has lost her way.

Life so calm,

Now unbalanced,

And sadness guides the way.

I tried to intervene,

But they had agreed.

The anger was locked

Away with a pen

And paper of lies.

What I heard

Stunned me, I

Fell as my emotions

Succumbed to darkness.

Did they even care?

That one girl,

She is now replaced.

Once breathing,

Now a slave

To their argument.

In her eyes,

The tears begin to flow.

She's too young to understand.

In the haze,

I can see

She has lost her way.

Life so calm,

Now unbalanced,

And sadness guides the way.

I can see

Through that fake disguise,

The tragedy lives on.

Standing tall,

Now knocked down

By violent turbulence.

I can't believe

Five years ago,

Everything was so sweet.

Now they all

Disappeared in trenches.

A peaceful place

As it was,

Now a battleground.

Love made to hate

And in to money.

From across the street

I remain.

Silent

To the bitter end.

An engine roars,

Screams are heard.

They say she's run away.

In the haze,

I can see

She has lost her way.

Life so calm,

Now unbalanced,

And sadness guides the way.

I can see,

As the smoke clears away,

She has disappeared.

A happy soul,

Now knocked down

By violent turbulence.

On your tears you choked

When you found there was nowhere to go.

You ran in circles, confused

Because you didn't know

That the words were set in stone.

Love lost shall never be replaced.

She's lost in the earthquake,

And she'll never be the same.

I should know.

Through my window,

I watched her grow up.

The End
