in those

days God ate

 bananas fresh

   from the tree

      at just the right

he smeared

       the little bit of brown

        slime that gathered in

  the grooves of his

     fingertips onto the

smooth skin of his

  perfect side

and grinned at Adam.

            Adam grinned back

and reached for another

banana. but God

  moved on to an

    orange tree.

           he preferred not to

             pick favorites.

  besides, a balanced

       diet was good,

                    even in those days.
