And I Breathe

My chest is tight
Bound, restrained
Fear holds me captive

I feel the straps
Digging in, constraining
Panic claims me

Wrapping round me
Concerns, qualms
Collapsing me in on myself

All that I should be
Expectations, potential
Crushing me in its grip

And then

One moment
Silence, stillness
Deep within I remember

I remember you

I remember me

And I breathe

The End
