Scarecrows Secret

Recommend

"I have a secret"

The scarecrow proclaimed

As he shook in the wind

And smiled with glee

I stared at him now

with a curious glance

and asked him,

"Dear scarecrow

what do you mean?

A secret? but what?

What may it be?"

And with a mischievous smile

he replied to me sweetly;

"Come here to me child,

I shall tell you this secret

But come to me please

so I may tell it to thee"

So I walked up the path

To the scarecrows place

Where he was perched on his post

looking quiet happy for such a sad gloomy day

"Tell me kind scarecrow,

what may it be? I am curious as ever

what could it be?"

So he leaned down from his post

and whispered to me

A wonderous secret

that filled me with glee

I can not tell thee

what it may be

but if you see me

I will be perched on a post

smiling at thee
