As I go Sailing

I watch from the corner of my eye
The blues and the reds of the setting sky
Separate from days gone before us
Simply the tide finds it cantankerous
Only the sands of time know it all
Listening to the seagull’s calls

And as I go sailing
I feel the wind failing
To blow me in the right direction
And help make all the right decisions
I hear the sky echoing
Thunder and lightning
Zeroing in on my little vessel
Hoping they hear our distress signal

Seashells and plankton I see from the deck
As I fall from the side crashing in the wreck
The ocean takes me in the way I came
Listening to the waves bending the ship’s frame
Holding onto what I thought was some comatose dream
As I open my lungs and leave out a final scream

Holding onto this
Vivacious dream
Nothing is
As what it seems to be

I can see myself failing to save my breath inside,
As I’m drowning selfishly in this great blue open wide.
This ships going down and so am I
I thought it was over, just my time to die
Then I watch from the corner of my eye
The blues and the reds of the setting sky
The ocean and it’s motions
waving to me goodbye

The End
