We Move With Dreams That Ache For PeopleMature

We talk
as if people
are our homes
as if our shelters-
our love
is cradled in fingers
and lost in eyes
and trapped
on skin
and lips
in every craving
in every teeth mark
in every lost breath
we search for home
as if we’ll find it
in the darkness
of somebody’s arms
spelling galaxies out
with our tongues
tying worlds together
like planets
are missing pieces
and maybe they are
maybe travel
along mountaintops
and the leaves
of every tree
and sleeping
in the rain
and the promise
of better days
is what we’ve been searching for
god knows
staring into beautiful eyes
and craving long roads
will only take us
so far.

The End
