Cold Joy

If you take
a breath
of Winter air
it'll chill more than
your bones
and when
your fingers are
red and raw
and hard to move
when
the tip of your nose
makes you seem like Rudolph
and the crunchy white underfoot
calls for a White Christmas
when
you are huddled
with a warm drink
your breath steamy
and a bit ragged
and you sleep
waiting for
a repeat
for days
and days
you will know
what joy
and happiness is

The End
