My words
used to spill on paper
like they belonged there
like the paper owned them
And they roamed
every time I looked at you
that's where they stayed
like you owned them
like you controlled them
And then they hid
like they didn't want to be found
they'd locked themselves away
and wouldn't come back
unless you were to find them
but you weren't even looking
I taught myself better
but you kept coming back
and starting it all over again
making sure you weren't forgotten
So I built a cage
to keep you out
And now that's all I am

The End
