There he was (2)

There was a boy who never quite caught my eye
and I still saw him
and I didn't exist

there was a boy I thought drowned in his own intelligence
and I took care of his smile
and I still didn't exist

there was a boy who always stayed quiet
and I paid attention
and I still didn't exist

there was a boy who stopped smiling in that class
and I always noticed
and I started to exist

there was a boy who took my hand
and swore he'd never let go
and I existed

there was a boy who I loved
and I held onto his hand
and I cried

there was a boy who I found
lying on the floor
he didn't exist

there was a boy that I knew
his eyes were as empty as my soul
and I didn't want to exist anymore

there was a boy I saw in a picture frame
but he stopped being that boy
and we didn't exist

there was a boy who broke his promise
and I remembered how his warmth felt
but he didn't exist

there was a boy who stopped living
His heart was as broken as mine
and I wished I didn't exist

there was a boy who left the world
and I never forgot him
but I still existed

The End
