Poems of the World. (France)
France, land of history and war
Revolution of blood and the guillotine
After liberation came a man who thought he could rule the world
Nicer than that, the common folk always remain
Caring for the creatures and the land
Ever their lives come and go changing and unchanged
France, the home of the beginning of modernism
Raising a pointed metal tower into heaven
Answering the call of the painter… to shape and transform
Never afraid, bordered by mountains and oceans three, still she fell to the Germans
Cheese on baguette, lunch in warm sun on cool stone bench
Enter this land of history, reserved people, barren mountains and living valleys
