Your 'Gorgeous Boy'

How can you cry for

Things that can never be?

You shed your tears,

For all to see.

You laugh and love,

And feel that loss.

But does your heart

Still give a toss?

Still you look at him

With joy.

And radiance:

Your ‘gorgeous boy’.

But know it all,

That when he’s gone,

He won’t miss

Your simple fun.

He won’t cry

A tear for you;

He won’t do

Those things you do.

And in the end,

It’s worthless, see,

The love you yearn

Will never be free.

The End
