Distance

I know you can feel it too,

The distance between me and you.

Growing more with words we say,

Larger, bigger, stronger ev’ry day.

I reach my hand out-

Try to see-

If a touch can set us free.

Though we must forev’ conceal,

This ever-lasting pain we feel.

Distance, and regret of speech,

Can largely be the thing we reach.

And though we try to battle on,

We know inside that things are wrong.

So for now I have to say:

Goodbye, my friend, ‘till, ‘nother day.

The End
