Her eyes have lost their sparkle

and her lips no longer speak

The person she was before- has vanished

and the memories are bleak

So much sorrow surrounds her heart

and her faith is weak

I reach out for her hand, but no response

her broken heart echoes

Darkness replaces the light that once framed her face

and her stare is steep

This stranger she has become, haunts her

and the cut is to deep

Her last adieu is faint , but sure

and she waits for sleep

Deep slumber takes her away

The End
